1. What is brake caliper spray paint used for?

Brake caliper spray paint is designed to enhance, protect, and customise brake calipers with a durable, high-temperature-resistant finish. It helps prevent rust, corrosion, and chipping, keeping calipers looking great over time.

2. How heat-resistant is this paint?

This paint is formulated to withstand high temperatures, making it perfect for high-performance brake calipers that generate intense heat.

3. Is this paint resistant to petrol, oil, and brake fluid?

Yes, it is petrol, oil, and chemical-resistant, ensuring that spills or leaks won’t degrade or damage the finish.

4. How do I prepare my brake calipers before painting?

Clean the calipers thoroughly with a degreaser or brake cleaner to remove dirt, oil, and rust.

Sand the surface lightly to improve paint adhesion.

Mask off surrounding areas to avoid overspray.

Ensure the calipers are completely dry before painting.

5. How do I apply the spray paint?

Shake the can well for at least 2 minutes before use.

Apply in thin, even layers, holding the can 15-20 cm away from the surface.

Allow each coat to dry for about 10-15 minutes before applying the next one.

Apply 2-3 coats for optimal coverage and durability.

6. How long does it take to dry?

Touch dry in 30-60 minutes

Handle dry in 2-3 hours

Fully cured within 24 hours (avoid extreme heat or stress on the calipers during this time).

7. Do I need to apply a clear coat?

A clear coat is not required but can add extra protection and gloss for a longer-lasting finish.

8. Will the colour fade over time?

No, this paint is UV-resistant and heat-resistant, so it maintains its vibrant colour without fading or yellowing.

1. Prepare the surface
Protect all non metallic components including seals, hoses etc, and prepare the area to be painted, if necessary, ensuring freedom from dust, grime, greases, oils etc by wiping with a cloth damped with white spirit. Allow to dry.

2. Apply to a cool surface
Do not apply when the calipers or drums are hot, or in damp or humid weather.

3. Shake well before use
Repeat shaking at regular intervals during use. Apply sparingly from a distance of 15 – 25cm. Apply 2 to 3 light coats as necessary to achieve total and even coverage, leaving about 15 minutes between each application. Allow to dry for 24 hours to develop maximum paint hardness.

4. Storage & Reuse
To prevent blockages, invert the can after use and spray for 2 seconds. This aerosol should be stored out of direct sunlight, in a cool well ventilated place. Consult the safety data sheet before use.

Note: This product must not be applied to rubber components, brake discs, pads or shoes. Should contact occur, remove immediately or replace as necessary.
